Iranian Forces State Attack on US Base in Bahrain, As Part of Regional Military Operations.
Iran's military claims to have hit a American military facility in Bahrain, as the country executed operations throughout the Middle East in retaliation for a significant and ongoing offensive targeting the nation by the United States and Israeli forces.
Huge plumes of black smoke were seen rising from an vicinity close to the headquarters of the American Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The full scale of any damage is unclear and the US has not commented.
Regional Interceptions
Elsewhere across the region, the United Arab Emirates, the State of Qatar and the State of Kuwait - which all house US military bases - said they have intercepted incoming projectiles in their air space.
In Doha, the Qatari Ministry of Defence stated it had successfully engaged several missiles apparently targeting the al-Udeid air base, the biggest US military installation in the Middle East.
Operation "Truthful Promise 4"
Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said in a statement it was attacking US bases and assets as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in retaliation for the offensive on the Islamic Republic carried out by the US and Israel on Saturday morning.
That initial attack - executed at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far targeted areas linked to the Tehran's leadership, with President Trump encouraging the people of Iran to revolt against the leadership.
Wider Impacts
In the State of Israel, air raid sirens sounded across the country after the Israeli military stated it had detected an incoming Iranian missile barrage.
The Ministry of Defence of the UAE announced that the country has been targeted by a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"UAE air defence systems dealt with the missiles with high efficiency and shot down a series of missiles," the statement continued.
It said missile fragments fell on a populated district in the capital, causing some material damage and the death of one civilian.
The United States Air Force operates from the Al Dhafra base, to the south of the Emirati capital, along with the Emirati Air Force.
