Power facilities targeted in the region
Ukraine's energy systems have come under increased attacks in recent weeks

During the night, Russian missile and drone strikes have caused electricity outages in multiple districts of the capital city, the Ukrainian capital.

A number of civilians were hurt while residents in eastern neighborhoods were experienced blackouts and encountered problems to water systems, per reports from municipal leaders.

At the same time, a young boy was lost their life in a separate assault in the Zaporizhzhia area in the southeastern part, as reported by area administrators.

Russian forces has intensified assaults on electrical systems over recent weeks, while the country's government has called for "substantial measures" from partner nations to increase pressure on Moscow.

"The necessity is not window dressing but firm measures - from the US, European nations and the Group of Seven - in delivering defensive weapons and implementing penalties," was stated in a public message.

Officials stated that hundreds of unmanned aircraft and over thirty projectiles targeted energy facilities, characterizing such attacks as "strategic and deliberate" and against "essential services" as temperatures become colder.

Government representatives said Russia was "conducting extensive attacks" and maintenance teams were laboring to fix the damage.

A series of attacks damaged power facilities and civilian homes in Kyiv.

Several of the people injured in the strikes on the city have been transported for medical care, as confirmed by local officials.
