Week six of the 2025 NFL season
Real-time updates includes live text for the weekend matchups via multiple platforms, starting with Denver Broncos v New York Jets at Tottenham (from 14:00 BST). Additionally, audio coverage can be heard through select stations for a separate game (from 21:00 BST).
It's week six in the NFL season , after recent talk regarding two top teams as possible championship contenders, they both lost their unbeaten records.
Notable in those games were the amount of infractions both conceded. The Eagles did so in key moments meaning they essentially defeated themselves having led by two touchdowns going into the final quarter versus Denver, set to play overseas this weekend.
However it was good to see that Denver's QB the rookie was able to overcome the shortfall and then direct three scoring drives in three attempts in the fourth quarter, to win the game by four points.
Denver have the defensive player of the year in CB Pat Surtain II. They rank number one in red zone defence, while the Eagles lead the league in red zone offence, and Denver prevailed in that contest.
They had effective strategies regarding simulated pressure. They did not necessarily sending extra pass rushers instead they could plug two linebackers in the 'A' gap then withdrawing them and send a nickel from the outside.
Early on of the season, we said on a program how Denver might emerge as the current year's dark horses. They ended the previous year well and did a good job in continuing that momentum.
Could Denver be this season's underdog story?
New tight end Evan Engram has stepped up significantly and recent RB their rusher is a player they believe in. He's currently fifth in the NFL for rushing yards (over 400) and tied-fourth for rushing touchdowns (4).
It's impressive that the coach Sean Payton has "RUN IT!" prominently of his playcall sheet.
This demonstrates how the Broncos are a squad aiming to run first, because one can achieve much off the back of that. It slows down the pass rush and maintains in positive situations.
This has helped quarterback the young passer, who entered the NFL as a first-round selection last year, throwing 29 touchdown passes – just behind a star QB in rookie records (31 back in 2020).
Other elite QBs have powerful arms to pass all over, however they lack the mobility that Nix has. He has incredible arm talent, a unique trait, and he is so athletic.
His strengths are his movement, the capacity to throw while moving, as well as finding different arm angles to make throws as he moves out of the pocket, on rollouts. He can throw that layered pass over the middle and over the corner.
For a young quarterback, at 25, he's got a lot of poise under pressure and is not really fazed by the blitz. He tries to avoid a sack whenever possible and can pass in tight spots. He possesses a high football IQ and is quick to decide.
When you constantly run the ball it consumes time and makes the defence to stay in play for longer, and if you have an athletic quarterback the defense has to cover the field downfield and horizontally. This proves draining.
Nix has pushed back at Payton on the sideline sometimes and it seems Payton likes that fire, that he's a fierce rival. In my view it's fun for him to coach a young quarterback who's similar to moldable clay. He can truly develop him how he desires to build it. I think it's a unique opportunity for the coach.
Payton has won a championship and has surpassed Bill Parcells for career NFL wins (173, tying for 14th). He's seen it all. I think the success Denver are experiencing offensively is largely down to his guidance, his schemes, his situational awareness – and the pairing with Nix helps make him into who he is.
There's no better a more qualified person guiding you, to assist you through some of the tougher situations and build confidence.
I have faith in Denver's defence, in the QB's grit and calm. But are they strong enough to go against a top squad at full strength? Since that was not a Super Bowl performance by the Eagles last Sunday.
Currently, I don't think the Broncos are incredible. They're performing better than most, that's a good place to hold the AFC West. The key to do is maintain this path.
They're really good at leaning into their strength, which is running the ball, and this is exactly what they must do versus the New York Jets at Tottenham. It's going to be a Dobbins-focused game, in essence.
The Jets have allowed 140 rushing yards per game (sixth worst), five rushing touchdowns so far (10th worst), and they're the only team yet to win any game.
Ever since the league started recording turnovers in 1933, this team are the inaugural squad to go without a single takeaway in five outings, which is surprising when you think that the head coach Aaron Glenn defensive co-ordinator with another team.
Patrick Mahomes says Kansas City are off to a poor start after Monday's defeat by the Jaguars.
After the upcoming matchup, Denver have a smooth-ish schedule until their bye (in week 12) - the New York Giants, Dallas Cowboys, the Texans and the Raiders prior to the Chiefs.
Looking at the AFC West, Kansas City are 2-3 while Denver are even with the Chargers at 3-2 meaning they could challenge at leading the division.
It depends on which form Kansas City shows up they face because the Broncos {beat|def
